Do You Know This Man?

Who is this man?  Do you know this famous figure in Scottish Tea history?

This is Andrew Melrose, who started the brand of tea that carries his name.   Andrew Melrose founded the company in 1812.  Melrose was the first tea dealer to land tea outside of London.

  1. This is very interesting as I have always been told that one of my ancestors married into the Melrose tea family and so took their name.

  2. What happened to the Melrose Tea Company? Was it taken over and subsumed into another company. Is there a tea company today with a trace of Melrose DNS in it?
